Business Strategic Health Check
A free 10-minute self-assessment for founders, managing directors, and leadership teams who want a clear, honest picture of where their business stands strategically — and what to do about it.
Is your Business as Strategically Healthy as it needs to be?
Most business leaders can sense when the organisation would benefit from a sharper strategic direction. A strategy that has not been refreshed. Priorities that have shifted. A leadership team delivering at pace, but not always aligned behind the same outcomes. Revenue is moving, but with less predictability than you want.
These are typical signs of a business that has grown faster than its operating structure.
The difficulty is creating enough distance from day-to-day delivery to see the business clearly. When urgency dominates, the strategic questions that shape performance, focus and growth tend to be deferred.
That is why we built the Corvanta Strategic Health Check.
It is a structured self-assessment that helps founders, managing directors, and leadership teams quickly and clearly see where the business stands across the areas that underpin sustainable growth.
This comes at cost of just 10 minutes of your time.
What is the Strategic Health Check?
The Corvanta Strategic Health Check is a free, downloadable self-assessment that reviews seven core areas of strategic health. It includes 21 scored statements, each rated from 1 to 5, to help you assess where the business stands today and identify the areas most likely to influence performance over the next 3–12 months.
It covers:
Strategic Clarity
Do you have a written, agreed strategy that is current, understood across the leadership team, and used to guide decisions?
Market Position and Competitive Advantage
Is it clear what differentiates you commercially, which customers you serve best, and how you compare to competitors in the factors that drive buying decisions?
Planning and Execution
Do plans translate into delivery, with clear ownership, measurable milestones, and a consistent governance rhythm?
Commercial and Revenue Growth
Is your commercial approach supporting predictable, sustainable revenue, with a visible pipeline, a structured sales process, and confidence in the next three to six months?
Decision-Making and Leadership
Are decisions made at the right pace, supported by relevant data, insight, and appropriate challenge?
Focus and Prioritisation
Is leadership time concentrated on the work that will move the business forward, with active protection of that focus?
Growth Readiness
Is the business resourced and structured to scale in a controlled way, without creating avoidable operational strain?
At the end, you total your score and use the interpretation guide to understand what the results indicate and what actions to prioritise next.
How to use the Strategic Health Check
The assessment takes around 10 minutes. For the most useful result:
- Score the business as it operates day to day. Accuracy matters more than a high score.
- Complete it independently first. If you have a leadership team, ask each person to score it separately, then compare results to surface alignment gaps.
- Give it focused time. Step away from day-to-day noise and answer with the objectivity you would bring to a board discussion.
- Use the reflection prompts. The final questions help you interpret the scores and translate them into practical next steps.
The Benefits
The Corvanta Strategic Health Check gives you three things that most business leaders find genuinely difficult to access without external support.
You will finish knowing more about your business's strategic health than most leaders ever stop to establish. That tends to prompt better thinking, stronger decisions, and more deliberate action.
Clarity about where you actually are
A structured, scored view of your business's strategic position across seven areas — right now, based on honest reflection rather than assumption or aspiration.
A clear picture of your priorities
The sections where your scores are lowest are the areas most likely to be limiting your growth. The assessment gives you a rational, objective basis for deciding where to focus your time, energy, and investment first.
A starting point for better conversations
Whether you use the results to structure a leadership team discussion, inform a planning day, or assess whether external strategic support would be worthwhile, the assessment gives you something concrete and specific to work from, rather than a general sense that things need to improve.
